Postcards To Voters
What I read: Postcards To Voters.
My politics is a fairly open book these days. Anyone who reads what I write likely already knows that. But just in case you do not, I am convinced the only way we can begin to solve much of the mess our country is in right now is to elect Democrats to every local, state, and federal office.
The recent Supreme Court ruling on abortion, striking down the 50-year Roe v Wade precedent, is but one of many issues facing voters today. Will a Blue Wave in November fix everything? No, of course not. But it is the most important next step we can each take to begin healing our country and saving our democracy.
Each election cycle I pick something that I can do personally to affect the outcome of the upcoming election. For years I have donated to campaigns, volunteered with campaigns, and otherwise done what I can to try to elect Democrats because during my lifetime I have seen Republicans intentionally chip away at women’s rights, LGBTQ rights, racial equity, voting rights, and a host of other rights that benefit those who are not right-wing conservative heterosexual white Christian men.
For the November 2022 election cycle, I have chosen to sign up to send postcards to voters. I just finished my first postcard to send and I plan to send dozens, perhaps hundreds, of such postcards to try and get Democrats elected.
I find writing postcards to voters quite easy. You first visit the Postcards To Voters website and click the Sign Up link which will give you instructions on how to start the process by either texting or emailing Postcards To Voters. You’ll quickly get a return response with very simple instructions on how to write a practice postcard and email a photo of that practice postcard to receive approval to be a postcard writer and how to begin writing postcards to send to voters.
It's so simple! I can keep postcards and postcard stamps handy and sit in front of the television, in a park, or anywhere and write a few postcards as I have time.
Being an engaged citizen like this makes me feel empowered that I can do something to ensure that Democrats win in November and beyond so that we can begin to course correct our country to better serve all Americans.
Please consider joining me in writing postcards to voters. I think you’ll find it gives you a sense of meaningful contribution to the betterment of our country, and you will be helping to save our democracy from those who want to set our country’s progress back decades.
Vote Blue in 2022!
